After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frankton, Elwood was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles by a score of 17-14. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 14-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Kelsey Armes, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Addison Jones was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Elwood's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-3. As for Oak Hill, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Elwood will head out to challenge Tipton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oak Hill, they will be taking part in a tournament against Madison-Grant at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
