Baseball Recap: Palmetto Ridge Comes Up Short

Palmetto Ridge made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Fort Myers, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bears fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Red Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Gabe Willard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Thomas Cox made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Palmetto Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for North Fort Myers, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

Palmetto Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Fort Myers, they will challenge Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
