Soccer Game Preview: St. John Paul II Academy vs. FAU High

The St. John Paul II Academy Eagles will challenge the FAU High Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. John Paul II Academy headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for five straight, but Calvary Christian Academy let them put that streak behind them. St. John Paul II Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Calvary Christian Academy on Wednesday. Evan Herkanrath was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, FAU High and Pine Crest finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The outcome might've been different if Luke Black hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

St. John Paul II Academy picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-4-1. With that draw, FAU High's record moves to 2-1-2.

St. John Paul II Academy skirted past FAU High 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
