Baseball Recap: Basalt Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Basalt walked away with it. They came out on top against the Lamar Thunder by a score of 6-3 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

Elias Schendler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. He has become a key player for Basalt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-12 otherwise.

Basalt's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Lamar, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-8 record.

Coming up, Basalt will square off against Eaton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Reds will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight. Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
