Baseball Game Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Inderkum Tigers

The Ponderosa Bruins will challenge the Inderkum Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Ponderosa took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Laguna Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins came out on top against the Cardinals on Wednesday by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bruins have posted since March 11th.

Brock Texdahl looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Stiveson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was CJ Perin, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Ponderosa hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Inderkum, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Antelope a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ponderosa's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Inderkum, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.

Ponderosa took their victory against Inderkum in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
