Pleasant Grove has gone 9-1 against Lone Peak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Vikings will challenge the Knights at 3:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Pleasant Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt American Fork on Wednesday. The Vikings blew past the Cavemen 11-1. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Keslie Draney made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Maile Larsen was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Norman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out American Fork 5-4.
Clara Gourley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Lone Peak's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Colledge, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Colledge has posted since back in May of 2024.
Lone Peak's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-14. As for Pleasant Grove, their record is now 20-6.
Lone Peak's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pleasant Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .443. It's a different story for Lone Peak, though, as they've only averaged .220. Will they be able to contain Pleasant Grove's hitters?
Everything went Pleasant Grove's way against Lone Peak in their previous meeting back in April, as Pleasant Grove made off with a 19-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
