Football Recap: Whitewater Wildcats vs. Mary Persons Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitewater). They walked away with a 38-27 victory over the Mary Persons Bulldogs on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Whitewater found their leader in sophomore Parker Morr, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Those 169 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Morr.
Morr was just one part of a punishing run game: Whitewater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 336 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Whitewater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maxton Patterson and Ryan Henderson. Patterson also made eight total tackles, which is notable because Whitewater is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise.

The win got Whitewater back to even at 5-5. As for Mary Persons, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
