The Front Range Baptist Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Mile High Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Front Range Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Front Range Baptist was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Peetz.
Despite the loss, Front Range Baptist got top-tier performance from Mark Sutton, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin VanDenBerghe, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 44 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Mile High Academy ended up a good deal behind STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday and lost 51-35.
Front Range Baptist will have to keep a close watch on Rogan Annis and Noel Koloay, a pair of players who had a big impact on Mile High Academy's prior game. Annis dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards, while Koloay earned ten points. Annis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Front Range Baptist's record is now 13-7. As for Mile High Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Front Range Baptist has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37 boards per game. However, it's not like Mile High Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Front Range Baptist against Mile High Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Front Range Baptist since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
