Baseball Recap: Central Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It's playoff time, and Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Boylan Catholic Titans by a score of 7-2 on Saturday. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Central got a great performance from Tyler Kotwica as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Kotwica has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liam Schultz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Zane Pollack was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Central pushed their record up to 20-16 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boylan Catholic, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-15-1.

As of now, neither Central nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
