Softball Game Preview: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. McCann Tech Hornets

The Monument Mountain Spartans will head out to square off against the McCann Tech Hornets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monument Mountain will be strutting in after a victory while McCann Tech will be coming in after a loss.

Monument Mountain was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over Mount Greylock Regional. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since May 13, 2025.

Meanwhile, McCann Tech didn't have quite enough to beat Pioneer Valley Regional on Friday and fell 6-4. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Monument Mountain's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for McCann Tech, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
