Oxnard waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 38-19 victory over the Santa Barbara Dons. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Dons are ranked 212th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oxnard didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Charlee Bernal and Ameerah Phillips.

Oxnard's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Santa Barbara, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxnard will take on Ventura at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Santa Barbara, they will challenge San Marcos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' defense has only allowed 5.3 points per game this season, so the Dons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
