Soccer Recap: Waldwick Comes Up Short

Waldwick was the 5-1 winner over Westwood when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Waldwick came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Westwood are ranked 213th).

Waldwick's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3. As for Westwood, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Waldwick will face off against Garfield on Monday. As for Westwood, they will take on Indian Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
