Indian Springs had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Smith Valley Bulldogs 7-1 on Thursday. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Jacob Gourley was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Adam Groeblinghoff was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Indian Springs is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Smith Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-5.

As of now, neither Indian Springs nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
