Basketball Recap: St. Paul Lutheran's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

The St. Paul Lutheran Giants took a 61-43 bruising from the Arcadia Valley Tigers on Tuesday. The Giants' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why St. Paul Lutheran lost, don't look at Brooklyn Weibrecht. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Weibrecht is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Lunsford, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, St. Paul Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

St. Paul Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Arcadia Valley, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
