Softball Recap: Rouse Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Rouse came out on top against Lehman on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Raiders put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Blakely Barber made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madilynn George was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Mariah Collins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Rouse kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are undefeated (8-0) when they post 11 or more hits.

Rouse pushed their record up to 15-9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lehman, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16-1.

Rouse didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Lockhart on the 15th. As for Lehman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Hays on the 15th.
