Softball Recap: Lake Weir Comes Up Short

Lake Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Minneola Hawks.

Kyra Rigozzi was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of G Weidenbacher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lake Minneola, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Weir will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge The Villages Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Minneola, they will challenge Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
