Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Sharks vs. Peekskill Red Devils

Two dominant forwards in Scarlet Bello and Nailah Smalls are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Roosevelt Sharks will be playing at home against the Peekskill Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Roosevelt is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Port Chester just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a blow against the Rams, falling 67-24. The Sharks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Peekskill beat The Leffell School 38-34 on Wednesday.

Peekskill's win came from a few key players that Roosevelt will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Riley Jenkins, who posted 11 points. Alani Jacobs was another key player, putting up seven points.

Roosevelt now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Peekskill, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Roosevelt couldn't quite finish off Peekskill in their previous matchup back in December of 2025 and fell 60-58. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
