Baseball Recap: Dwight-Englewood Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Dwight-Englewood's offense. They came up short against the Ridgefield Memorial Royals on Monday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dwight-Englewood has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Ridgefield Memorial, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dwight-Englewood will head out to square off against Rutherford at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Rutherford's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Dwight-Englewood's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridgefield Memorial, they are taking a road trip to challenge Saddle Brook at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
