Baseball Game Preview: Redington Huskies vs. Kodiak Bears

The Redington Huskies will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Kodiak Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Redington will be strutting in after a win while Kodiak will be coming in after a loss.

Redington will bounce into Friday's match after beating Houston, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3.

Kenai Central hit Kodiak with a five-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears came up short against the Kardinals, falling 9-3.

Zeke Saltonstall was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Kodiak's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Redington, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Redington came out on top in a nail-biter against Kodiak in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
