Basketball Recap: East Comes Up Short

After soaring to 59 points the game before, East was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They took a blow against the Middle Early College Kats, falling 64-29. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, East still got an impressive performance from Antoine Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

East has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Middle Early College, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

East will take on McKinley and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Middle Early College will try to stop Math Science Tech Prep at Seneca's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
