Preview: Spanish River Sharks vs. Suncoast Chargers
The Spanish River Sharks will be playing at home against the Suncoast Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Spanish River and four for Suncoast.
Spanish River pushed their score all the way to 34 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-34 to Santaluces.
Despite their defeat, Spanish River saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aj Truiolo, who threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Blake Wallace, who picked up 123 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Suncoast suffered a tough 34-10 defeat at the hands of South Fork on Friday.
The losses dropped Spanish River to 6-3 and Suncoast to 1-8.
Spanish River came up short against Suncoast when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 21-14. Will Spanish River have more luck at home instead of on the road?
