Volleyball Recap: Douglas Wins Going Away Against Sutton

Douglas had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Sutton Sammies/Suzies on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Sammies/Suzies two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Douglas not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sutton between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.

Taylor Smith paced Douglas' offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Zoe Greenough and her 17 assists. Greenough also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emily Pacheco, each putting up five.

Douglas' record now sits at 4-9. As for Sutton, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Douglas has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Blackstone-Millville on the 3rd. As for Sutton, they will face off against Medway at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.
