Doherty had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Grizzlies since April 6, 2022.

Elijah Morrison paced Doherty's offense, picking up nine kills. Morrison got some help from Ryan Kaiser and his 18 assists. Kaiser also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nathaniel Mai, racking up two apiece.

Mesa Ridge lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aiden Meacham, who had three digs and one block. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 12.4 assists per game.
