Softball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Takes a Loss

Cowanesque Valley had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it five. They lost 13-0 to the Wellsville Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered since March 18th.

As for Wellsville, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Wellsville's part, Brynn Hallock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hallock was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayla Faulkner, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Averee Palmatier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Cowanesque Valley will take on Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellsville, they will challenge Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
