Basketball Recap: Edgewood Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Edgewood hadn't done well against Patterson Mill recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Everything went the Edgewood Rams' way against Patterson Mill as the Edgewood Rams made off with a 65-44 win. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Patterson Mill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Trinh, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Shertzer, who put up seven points.

Edgewood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Patterson Mill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Edgewood will head out on the road to square off against Aberdeen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aberdeen will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Edgewood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Patterson Mill, they will challenge Northern at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
