Football Game Preview: Forge Christian Fury vs. Platte Canyon Huskies

The Forge Christian Fury are taking a road trip to challenge the Platte Canyon Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Forge Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Two weeks ago, Forge Christian took their contest with ease, bagging a 51-7 victory over Flatirons Academy. Considering the Fury have won five matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Quentin Torres was his usual excellent self, rushing for 50 yards and three scores, while also picking up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 73 yards.

Torres was just one part of a punishing run game: Forge Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Platte Canyon's offense. They had to suffer through a 28-0 loss at the hands of Flatirons Academy. Considering the last time the Huskies couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Forge Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Platte Canyon, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Forge Christian against Platte Canyon in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fury since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
