Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Pumas are ranked 368th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gabe Casanovas produced another solid performance rushing for 116 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 122 yards on eight of 12 attempts. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. St. Vincent de Paul also got a significant boost from Levi Kennedy, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 121 yards.

Meanwhile, Ferndale took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over Salesian College Preparatory. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

St. Vincent de Paul better focus on containing Prescott Langer and Tanner Pidgeon as the pair were huge in Ferndale's win. Langer gained 92 total yards, while Pidgeon rushed for 43 yards and one score.

St. Vincent de Paul's record now sits at 11-1. As for Ferndale, their record is now 12-0.
