Heide Trask and Hobbton are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Heide Trask Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Hobbton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heide Trask is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Heide Trask is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Kinston on Thursday. Everything went Heide Trask's way against Kinston as Heide Trask made off with an 11-1 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Heide Trask let Drew Bailey and Alex Monroe run wild. Bailey scored a run and stole Five bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Monroe scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, Bailey is now averaging an impressive 1.5 stolen bases per game. Brantley Lunsford also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Hobbton put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Princeton.
The team relied heavily on Zack Aman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kasey Lee was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Hobbton's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Heide Trask, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Heide Trask has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hobbton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Heide Trask came up short against Hobbton when the teams last played last Thursday, falling 11-6. Can Heide Trask avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
