Basketball Recap: East Ascension Comes Up Short

East Ascension has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 49-35 fall against the Hahnville Tigers on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).

East Ascension's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Hahnville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

East Ascension will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Destrehan at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Hahnville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lutcher at 6:00 p.m.
