Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roxbury Latin). They never let the St. George's Dragons get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Foxes in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Matt Taglieri tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Anthony Faletra was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tom Pender was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Roxbury Latin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. George's only posted an OBP of .188.

Roxbury Latin pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. George's, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Roxbury Latin will face off against Buckingham Browne & Nichols at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. George's, they will square off against Portsmouth Abbey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
