Basketball Recap: Kearny Takes a Loss

Kearny lost against Crawford back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kearny Komets took a blow against the Crawford Colts, falling 73-41. The game marked the Komets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kearny's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arthur Minton, who posted nine points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Nevada, who earned ten points.

Mickelson Laguerre continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crawford, putting up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Walker, who put up 11 points.

With the loss, Kearny broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. As for Crawford, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Kearny wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-59 victory against Morse on the 30th. As for Crawford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-53 defeat against Southwest SD on the 30th.
