Basketball Game Preview: Veritas Prep Falcons vs. Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes

Veritas Prep is 0-4 against Arizona Lutheran Academy since January of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Veritas Prep is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Lincoln Prep, falling 47-27.

Meanwhile, Arizona Lutheran Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Eagles are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arizona Lutheran Academy pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.5 points per game. As for Veritas Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Veritas Prep was taken down by Arizona Lutheran Academy 59-22 when the teams last played back in February of 2021. Can Veritas Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
