Basketball Recap: Macksville Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Daniela Reyes and Ava Chadd

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Macksville can now relate to. The game between the Macksville Mustangs and the South Gray Rebels didn't end well, with the Macksville Mustangs falling 57-39. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Macksville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Chadd, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points, and Daniela Reyes, who posted eight points and five boards. Reyes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Even though they lost, Macksville was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their first loss (out of nine games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Macksville's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for South Gray, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Macksville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Gray, they have already played their next match, a 53-38 victory against Meade on the 7th.
