Baseball Recap: Poynette Comes Up Short

Poynette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors, falling 14-1. If the Pumas were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Poynette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Day, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Day has scored this season.

Poynette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Lakeside Lutheran, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Coming up, Poynette will venture away from home to take on Wautoma at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeside Lutheran, they will head out to face off against River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
