Softball Recap: Belvidere Comes Up Short at Home Against Dekalb

Belvidere unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the DeKalb Barbs on Tuesday, falling 14-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucs of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Brecken Ralston-Walsh was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, Belvidere will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Woodstock at 4:30 p.m. As for DeKalb, they will venture away from home to square off against Larkin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
