Football Preview: Pecos Eagles vs. Greenwood Rangers
Pecos hasn't had much luck against Greenwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pecos Eagles will head out to challenge the Greenwood Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Pecos took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Kermit 39-16.
It was another big night for Colt Salgado, who threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score. Jesus Navarro was Salgado's top target, picking up 159 receiving yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pecos' defense and their four sacks. Ziggy Hinojoz was especially locked on to Kermit's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Greenwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Shallowater on Friday, taking the game 35-24. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.
