Baseball Recap: Taylor County Triumphs

Taylor County won against Branford on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Tiftarea Academy Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Landon Lopez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Taylor County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tiftarea Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Taylor County will head out to take on Valwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tiftarea Academy, they will be playing at home against Maclay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Marauders have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
