Baseball Game Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Crestline Bulldogs

Ridgemont is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Crestline a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will host the Crestline Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Neither Ridgemont nor Crestline posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Ridgemont made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Waynesfield-Goshen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Gophers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ridgemont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kody Kiser, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Crestline fell victim to South Central and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 13-0 to the Trojans.

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Crestline, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Ridgemont might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Crestline in their previous meeting back in May of 2019. Can the Golden Gophers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
