Football Recap: Denison Comes Up Short

If Denison was feeling good fresh off their 47-17 takedown of Liberty last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets took a blow against the Anna Coyotes on Thursday, falling 49-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 28-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Although Denison took the loss, they still got scores from Alex Camacho and Rashaun Dehorney.

Denison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Camacho and Alyc Moore. Camacho got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

A big part of Anna's win came down to the chemistry between Ziondre Williams and his top target Ace Traylor. Williams threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns while Traylor gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Williams posted three rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Denison's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Anna, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Denison will square off against Lovejoy at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Anna, they will challenge Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Coyotes are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
