Baseball Game Preview: Onalaska Loggers vs. Mossyrock Vikings

The Onalaska Loggers are taking a road trip to square off against the Mossyrock Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Onalaska is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Adna on Saturday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 23-1.

Onalaska saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rowdy Lyons, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Lyons has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Mossyrock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 17-1 to Napavine.

Mossyrock's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Onalaska, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.

Mossyrock's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Onalaska has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. It's a different story for Mossyrock, though, as they've only averaged .329. Will they be able to contain Onalaska's hitters?

Everything went Onalaska's way against Mossyrock in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, as Onalaska made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Loggers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
