Basketball Recap: Salisbury Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Salisbury had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the East Rowan Mustangs 60-37. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-40 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salisbury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabbi Fatovic, who went 7-for-10 on her way to 16 points and five boards. Fatovic is becoming a predictor of the Hornets' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kearia Spruill, who shot 75% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals.

Salisbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Salisbury now has a winning record of 9-8. As for East Rowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
