Soccer Game Preview: Bowie vs. Lake Travis

The Bowie Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Travis Cavaliers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Bowie is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Bowie's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Marble Falls, sneaking past 1-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Mustangs are ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bowie's one-goal win came courtesy of Joshua Lewis, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Lake Travis made sure to put some goals up on the board against San Marcos on Friday. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Rattlers.

Lake Travis has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for Bowie, their record now sits at 5-3.

Bowie beat Lake Travis 2-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowie since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
