Baseball Game Preview: Narrows Green Waves vs. Parry McCluer Fighting Blues

The Narrows Green Waves are taking a road trip to face off against the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Narrows has seven straight wins, Parry McCluer has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Narrows came out on top against George Wythe on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Green Waves blew past the Maroons 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Green Waves, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Parry McCluer couldn't beat Highland on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Fighting Blues fell 12-8 to the Rams. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Blues have lost by exactly four runs.

Narrows pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Parry McCluer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went Narrows' way against Parry McCluer in their previous matchup on April 3rd, as Narrows made off with a 17-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Waves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
