Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Blue). They blew past the Messalonskee Eagles 8-1 on Tuesday. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 (when they won 14-4).

Aiden Wilkins tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mt. Blue is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Mt. Blue's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Wrigley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Mt. Blue now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Messalonskee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Coming up, Mt. Blue will square off against Camden Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Messalonskee, they will head out to face off against Mt. Ararat at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Ararat's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Messalonskee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
