Skutt Catholic won the last time they faced Elkhorn and things went their way on Friday too. The SkyHawks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Antlers 42-8. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the SkyHawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Antlers are ranked 74th).

Skutt Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brenden Ruth out in front who rushed for 83 yards on only 11 carries, and also caught one TD. Those 83 rushing yards gave Ruth a new career-high. Luke Pierson was in the mix too, providing Skutt Catholic with two touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Elkhorn lost, don't look at Wyatt Worlie. Despite the final result, he rushed for 89 yards and one score.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Skutt Catholic, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.3 points over those games. As for Elkhorn, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Skutt Catholic will square off against Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The SkyHawks will be up against the Thunderbolts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Elkhorn, they will challenge Elkhorn North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Antlers will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
