Recap: Pelham Panthers vs. Prattville Christian Academy Panthers
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Pelham Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 victory over Prattville Christian Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given Pelham's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Prattville Christian Academy is ranked 11th).
Leading Pelham to victory were Tee King and Karma Wynn. King scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Wynn scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which King has scored at least 25% of Pelham's points. Another player making a difference was Ally Barfield, who scored six points.
Pelham is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Prattville Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Pelham will take on Huffman in a holiday battle at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at. Prattville Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Booker T. Washington Magnet at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
