Soccer Game Preview: Santa Ana Valley vs. Godinez Fundamental

The Santa Ana Valley Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Santa Ana Valley and St. Anthony finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Century 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Braulio Rodriguez and Sebastian Mejia scored both of Godinez Fundamental's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Godinez Fundamental has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. With that draw, Santa Ana Valley's record moves to 1-2-3.

Santa Ana Valley might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Godinez Fundamental in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Santa Ana Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
