Football Recap: Tatianna Kanoa and Ashley Galvis Secure Win for Amplus Academy

Amplus Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 19-6 win over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans. That's more bragging rights for the Archers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Amplus Academy was led to victory by Ashley Galvis and Tatianna Kanoa. Galvis rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, while Kanoa gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Kanoa a new career-high in rushing yards (68).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Amplus Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Amplus Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Amplus Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will be playing at home against Desert Pines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cimarron-Memorial is facing Desert Pines at the right time seeing as Desert Pines is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
