Volleyball Recap: Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Monte Vista, Central was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mount Miguel Matadors by a score of 2-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Everett Neuenschwander paced Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Neuenschwander got some help from David Lopez and his 11 assists. Lopez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Joshua Ahumada, racking up three apiece.

Central's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Mount Miguel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 19 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-25 record this season.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against La Jolla Country Day on the 19th. As for Mount Miguel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Mar Vista on the 19th.
