Football Recap: Knox County Eagles vs. Schuyler County Rams
Knox County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 62-44 bruising from the Schuyler County Rams. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Knox County still got an impressive performance from Cooper Clair, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Elliot Sevits was his usual excellent self, rushing for 289 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown for Schuyler County. Sevits' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brody Weaver, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Knox County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Schuyler County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Knox County will square off against Paris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paris knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Knox County likes a good challenge. As for Schuyler County, they will face off against Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Schuyler County will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
